James Stephens began his career in 1989 as an independent jewellery manufacturer and repairer in Wimbledon, South London after serving a 5 year apprenticeship specialising in diamond mounting.

He progressed into retail and opened James Stephens Jewellers in 1998. He has since been joined by a dedicated team of jewellery designers and bespoke manufacturers, one of whom had worked in the three most prestigious jewellery houses in London. Over the years James has built a solid customer base serving mainly the Surrey/Sussex area and offers many services using his on-site jewellery repair workshop along with his team of committed and experienced staff.

James is passionate about one-off pieces, especially those using customers’ own gold, platinum and precious stones – creating new items of jewellery with sentimental undertones. He also encourages customers to choose their own stones for engagement rings and offers, via email, step by step photographs of the creation of their treasured pieces. This truly is a bespoke service and personalises the most precious items of jewellery.
